International expert Noemí Pereda leads the second master class of the professional certificate course on child and teen sex crimes.

The class entitled “Phenomenology of Sexual Violence” was given as part of the program carried out by the School of Law of the Universidad Católica and Fundación Amparo y Justicia.

This was the second master class in the professional certificate course “The rights of child and teen victims of sex crimes and the legal system,” offered by the School of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Fundación Amparo y Justicia.

The class entitled “Phenomenology of Sexual Violence” was presented by renowned academic Noemí Pereda, PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology and professor of Victimology at the Universidad de Barcelona (Spain).

The expert, who has an extensive teaching career in undergraduate studies in Psychology and Criminology, as well as postgraduate and master’s degrees at several universities, addressed key issues such as sexual victimization and clinical and research aspects of poly-victimization, among other topics.

The event, which was streamed online, was attended by around 180 virtual attendees, including professionals and students interested in learning more about the rights of children and teens and the judicial system.

About the professional certificate program

The professional certificate course entitled “The rights of child and teen victims of sex crimes and the legal system” has been held 14 times over 10 years. The objective of this academic program is to contribute to professionals and officials from the justice system specializing in and staying up to date on the investigation and prosecution of sex crime cases against children and teens.
