The congress was attended by Foundation sociologist and researcher, Carolina Pavez, who gave a talk on: “Criminal prosecution of sexual crimes against children and teens: current situation and challenges”.
The Chilean Criminology Society (Sochicrim) is currently holding its IV Congress, organized together with the Justice and Society Studies Center of Universidad Católica.
One of the topics addressed this year was childhood and adolescence in criminal justice, a section that featured a presentation by Carolina Pavez, sociologist and researcher from Amparo y Justicia.
The expert spoke at the panel on “Childhood, adolescence, and criminal procedure,” with the presentation: “Criminal prosecution of sexual crimes against children and teens: current situation and challenges.”
“It was an honor to participate again as a speaker at the fourth year of Chilean Criminology Society Congress. This experience allowed me to share findings about the criminal prosecution of sex crimes against children and teens, as well as learn from other professionals in the field,” the researcher said.
Pavez also expressed her gratitude “for the opportunity to contribute to discussions on new trends and challenges in criminology. I hope to continue collaborating and growing in this academic community.”
The IV Chilean Criminology Society Congress is held from August 28 to 30, bringing together leading national and international experts to share their experiences and research on the subject.
